Kismet was built in the early 1960`s and in 1988 was taken over by the Kisten Chetty Family whom still run the family business to date. Fifty One years ago, when Kismet hotel was built , a double room without bath would have set you back R2.50 per night... those wanting extra luxury could specify ''with bath'' for an extra R1.00.Things have changed since then, just as it did in 1988 when Ronnie, His Brother Anand, Together with brother in-Law Peru Chetty bought the enterprise from it original owners. In buying the Hotel they fulfilled a long-held dream inspired by their late brother Jerry, namely to own his own hotel and bottle store.
